Two spent shells hang suspended in midair as they are ejected from a Rigby Rising Bite shotgun, captured in a split second of motion. Against the rich textures of traditional tweed and the soft greens of the countryside, Terry Allen freezes a moment that would ordinarily pass too quickly to appreciate. The smoke rising from the open action and the vivid red cartridges lend energy and immediacy to the composition. Both technically compelling and visually dramatic, the photograph celebrates the mechanical precision of a fine sporting gun and the fleeting details of a day in the field.
